Below you will find information on the death certificate process for consumers and medical professionals.

Death Certificate signing Immunity for medical professionals:

Under Georgia law, an authorized individual who completes & signs a death certificate in good faith, consistent with the medical-certification requirements of O.C.G.A. § 31-10-15(c), is immune from civil liability for acts or omissions relating to that medical certification, unless the conduct involves wanton misconduct or intentional wrongdoing. This protection is in addition to any other legal immunity that may apply. O.C.G.A. § 31-10-15(c)(3)
