Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)

The Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (“PDMP”) is an electronic database used to monitor the prescribing and dispensing of controlled substances. Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 16-13-57(c) if you hold an active DEA number, whether you prescribe controlled substances or not, you MUST register with the PDMP.
The PDMP is meant to help eliminate over prescribing of controlled substances & provide medical professionals with critical information regarding a patient’s prescription history to identify and protect those at risk of abuse.
