Georgia Composite Medical Board to begin preparations ahead of medical cannabis law

Atlanta, Georgia, March 27, 2015 – Following Governor Nathan Deal’s executive order, the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) announced its intention to begin drafting documentation required by HB 1, the medical cannabis law. This documentation includes a physician certification form and a patient waiver, which will be presented at the April 2, 2015 board meeting. Members of the board will coordinate these efforts with the Department of Public Health.

Governor Deal issued the executive order instructing state agencies to prepare for the medical marijuana legislation this morning. He will sign the bill into law after the session ends.

The board will issue additional information after the April 2 board meeting.
